Fireworks and teeth!

I've been a complete slacker on blogging lately and i'm having trouble posting pics for some reason, but hey, we've been busy in the laine household getting teeth and celebrating all the other great things going on!! Yep that's right, my baby has his two top teeth! Xanders top teefers broke through the same day at the same time, poor kid..No wonder he was waking up all night that week! I'm a little baffled, maybe because I'm a rookie mom with no experience, but X cut his bottom teeth a month ago and those darn things still aren't out? And these top two bully teeth just come out like it's nothing..I don't know how all that works, but seems a little strange to me? What do you guys think? None the less I am overly excited to see teeth period! I still haven't went through all my pics, but to sum up Xans bday, he got a cute laptop, the my pal scout, a cell phone, remote control, a tonka firetruck, a giant singing penguin with bouncy balls in it, a dumptruck, a cool wooden sesame street box with cut out pieces to stick in and out of it, and a ton of clothes..I think that's most of it..He had a awesome birthday! All these pics are 4th of july pics, For some unknown reason I can't upload anymore? It's cool though, I'm feeling bloggy again so will post more tomorrow if I can..Xander absofreekinlutely loved watching the fireworks, he was so mellow and just sat in my lap staring up at them..He looked so cute!! I think all ya mamas understand just how precious it is experiencing new stuff with our babes and watching them see or do things for the first time..It was a wonderful time for me looking at my not so little anymore baby watching the show in awe..It brought back a lot of memories on where we where this time last year and made the moment that much more special for us! X is still army crawling and really is not too interested on mobility just yet? We see his regular ped tomorrow for his 1 year well check, so I will ask and get his opinion..(we see high risk next week)..I'm not overly concerned with the crawling, more just curious to know that it's "OK" that he's not traditionally crawling..He gets up on all fours and has for months but just plops down shortly after and pulls himself around everywhere..He is trying to pull up and stand on everything or everyone, whichever is in his way, and doing pretty good..I don't think he has the mechanics down just yet..He uses all his upper body strength to pull up, no legs really, which most the time results in him toppling over or getting so pissed off he starts crying out of frustration. But he is learning and doing incredible in my opinion..He is really been talking it up lately too..He says Dada a ton, which is cool, but dang when can I get some mama!! We'll just be sitting around playing or doing whatever and he just starts spitting out this talk that sounds completely foreign..I swear he knows exactly what he's saying but to me it's just cute jib-jab! He also wants to eat whatever Tom and I are eating, which is great really. He loves, loves, loves beans and corn casserole, and I'm working on getting him on more of a solid schedule...The boy is still throwing down about 40 ozs of formula a day, and I'm sure his ped is gonna tell me to bring on the solids..I've just been holding out on a lot of stuff because the little dude hasn't had any teeth! I also have poor eating habits and tend to not eat until 12 or 1 oclock..I need a little disipline myself so I can help get Xander into a better routine with the solids, which will happen with a little practice..So I will give a update tomorrow on my little big mans latest stats from the doc and will post more pics if blogger allows it..

He's cracking me up

Just one pic of Xander with his cake yesterday..I need to sort through all the pics! He had a blast opening gifts, going to Toys R Us and eating his birthday Cupcake!! It really was a super fun day and I will post more pics after I sort through them..This pic is soooo funny to me..He turns one and starts doing push ups on the couch!! Our couch is pretty tall so I take off the seat cushions to help give him practice and confidence pulling up on things and this is what he decided to do today!! On another note, naptime and bedtime has turned into world war two around here..Not sure what is going on yet, but Xander is officially back on sleep strike...I hate assuming it's teething(which I think it is) but nothing else is going on with the little guy..He has been very clingy and wanting to be held constantly lately, so maybe just a phase we are going through? None the less, my baby is cute, cute, cute!!

Today is Xanders Birthday!! It was a awesome day and I'm working on making our blog look a little different to kick off Xander's next year!! I am exhausted right now so will do more later!! Happy Birthday Big Man!! We love you!!

It's really been a year..

Wow! This time last year was just another day in the hospital on bed rest, I was getting non stress tests and Xanders bio physical profile done..which were all looking great..I had no signs of going into labor, and we were hopeful that we would get to 28 weeks at least! Well that didn't work out obviously, so here we are today..One year later, and what a year it has been! Xander is awesome, I mean he really is..My husband and I often call him, super baby or the bionic baby..he seems to have superhuman strength and powers!! We have accomplished so much since X has been home, from pacing the halls for hours to get him to sleep to sleeping all night, from being on lock down for months to going on play dates to the zoo!!! Xander has taught me so much about life already in just this one year, he really and truly is the most laid back happy baby around..You can already see that he is going to be mischievous, ambitious and outgoing in so many ways and he really knows how to just brighten up anyones day by his smile..Tomorrow we celebrate his first birthday and I couldn't be happier that my little man has had such a wonderful year!! We love you Big man! These are just random pics that I love from this past year!

zoolicious playdate!!

On Wednesday Xander and I met a Babycenter mama(Taxmama) and her little man Canaan at The Cincinnati Zoo!! We had a great time, saw some really incredible animals and worked off a few pounds in the form of sweat! Thank you Jess!! In other late and breaking news our boy Xander has totally taken to his sippy cup, I mean he actually drinks from it, and likes it! I have offered juice and water in it, usually when I am giving him lunch or dinner and he has gotten great at it! Xander also has been working on holding his own bottle, now every time I give him his bottle he wants to hold it, which is great, but honestly I think he justs wants to play with it for the most part, and the end result is a good third of it ending up in his nose, eyes and hair!! On to the tooth business...So I think about a week or so ago I posted about X getting his first tooth finally!! Well ha ha ha, jokes on mommy! His tooth is right at the gum, there is even a tiny hole in his gum just waiting for the little guy to poke on through, but nope, not yet..I mean really? And now it looks like his other lower tooth is gonna beat that one!! I'm so over the teeth thing:) Xander is still commando crawling, but is now trying to pull up on things a lot more, very cool!! We also seem to be in the whole separation anxiety phase, he does not want to be put down to play, nap or anything really..As soon as I put him down to play or nap he instantaneously breaks out with the pouty lip and starts to cry, so sad and cute at the same time! On a happier note, 6 days until my little baby turns 1!! AH, the big ONE!! I'm so happy for my little guy, he is healthy, growing like a champ and is absolutely adoreable!!

So I was able to get a picture of Xander's first tooth coming in!! So cute, it is seriously barely coming in, but it is coming! For the past few weeks X has been doing this constant scrunchy face thing which is totally cute and funny, he has so many funny faces going on these days..He is still trying to get the crawling thing down, he acts as if he is intimidated or even a little scared to move his hands when he is on all fours..So I'd have to say we haven't got much further in that department, but he is trying like crazy and I'm sure he will get it down pat any day..I love when Xander hits milestones, but honestly this one I'm in no rush for:)

Scrunchtime!

Say hello to my little tooth!

This has been a great week for our little big man!! Xander has been working on getting some teeth and crawling for some time now and well it kind of all happened at once! Today there is finally a lower tooth poking through..YAY!! I seriously considered the fact that my son might of not had any teeth in his mouth at all, but nope, they have arrived! Whooo huuuu for teeth big man!! Ha Ha, anyways another huge milestone, the little bug is mobile, yep he is a mover, shakin and bakin full blown getting around!! Earlier this week he started commando crawling and soon realized he could get where ever he needed that way, and for over a month now he has been on all fours but would get very frustrated and just plop down..Well today he put it all together and actually moved about three feet on all fours..I'd say by time the weekend is over he will realize how much he can get into by crawling and there will be no stopping him..Xanders birthday is just under three weeks away and I just can't believe my little guy is almost ONE!! Speaking of Birthdays, we celebrated Grandma Laine's birthday at a amazing mexican restaurant this past Monday, Xander was able to visit with a lot of family that he doesn't get to see very often, the food was amazing as always and we had a great time! What a year it has been. Tom and I are going to celebrate Xander's birthday at home on his actual bday(June 23rd) and then we will be having a get together on July 3rd for our family and friends to celebrate with us! So exiting! I will get pics together and post soon of Xander's new found mobility and tooth!
